Email redesign: The Brookings Institution daily brief
A growing percentage of Brookings subscribers were reading the institution's daily brief on a mobile device, highlighting the need for an improved user experience tailored for smaller screens.
I led the design and development of a mobile-optimized email newsletter, ensuring readability, accessibility, and engagement across various devices
THE CHALLENGE
The primary challenge was simplifying the design while maintaining familiarity and engagement for loyal readers.
Additionally, I aimed to design a flexible, adaptable template that seamlessly accommodates a diverse range of content, from new research findings to upcoming events.
OUTCOME
The new layout is streamlined, elegant, and more legible, with far less clutter. Though there’s still a lot of content, additional white space helps guide the reader and prevent visual fatigue. It also makes scanning and reading easier.
